LEADINGTRANSIT
1) Who we are
LeadingTransit.org (“LeadingTransit”, “we”, “our”) is a members-only community and publication for public-sector transit professionals in the U.S. and Canada.
2) Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, becoming a member, or using the site, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please do not use the site.
3) Eligibility (Who can join)
Membership is limited to verified public-sector transit professionals in the U.S. and Canada:

Employees of public transit agencies and authorities

Staff of municipal, regional, provincial/state, or federal departments with transit responsibilities
Private-sector vendors, consultants, and contracted operators (including O&M providers) are not eligible for membership.
Verification & approval
We may require a work-email or equivalent proof of employment and may approve, decline, or revoke membership at our discretion (including if eligibility changes).
Account restrictions
One account per person. Accounts are non-transferable and may not be shared.
Vendors. Private-sector vendors and sales organizations are not eligible for member access. Invited experts may contribute to public materials under our firewall/recusal policy, without access to member discussions or data.
4) Editorial independence

Vendor-neutral and ad-free: no advertising, sponsored posts, native ads, or affiliate links.

Vendors and sales organizations have no access to member discussions or member data.

Firewall & recusal: contributors disclose employer ties and are recused from related topics; disclosures appear on affected items.
5) Community standards
Use your real name. Share factual experience. No solicitations, sales outreach, or vendor marketing. Be respectful and professional. We may moderate, edit, or remove content or accounts that violate these standards.
6) Interviews, discussions, and published content
By participating in any interview, discussion, panel, Q&A, survey, recorded call, written exchange, or other contribution with LeadingTransit, you agree that your statements, responses, and materials may be recorded, edited, summarized, excerpted, adapted, published, and reused by LeadingTransit across its website, member areas, emails, courses, reports, social channels, marketing materials, and other media, and you grant LeadingTransit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual right to use such content, including your name, title, organization, likeness, voice, and quoted statements unless otherwise agreed in writing. You confirm that any information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not include confidential, proprietary, privileged, or otherwise restricted information you are not authorized to share, and LeadingTransit reserves the right to publish, decline, redact, remove, or discontinue any such content at its discretion.
7) Intellectual property and licensing

Our content: All site materials (articles, briefs, interviews, data, layouts, and trademarks) are owned by LeadingTransit or our licensors. Except for personal, non-commercial use, you may not copy, scrape, republish, or create derivative works without written permission.

Member submissions: If you post comments, notes, files, or other materials, you grant LeadingTransit a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, reproduce, publish, and create derivative works from your submission for the operation and promotion of the site. You represent you have the rights to grant this license.

Attribution: Quoting our published articles is permitted with clear credit to LeadingTransit.org and a link to the source page. Bulk copying, database building, and automated scraping are prohibited.
8) Membership, fees, and renewals

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated and include applicable Canadian GST/HST where required by law.

Membership fees and billing intervals are shown at checkout.

Unless otherwise stated, paid memberships automatically renew until cancelled.

You may cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation stops the next renewal.

Unless required by law, membership fees are non-refundable for the current billing period.

Sales to customers outside Canada are generally treated as zero-rated exports for Canadian tax purposes.
9) Privacy
We collect and use information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the site, you consent to those practices.
10) Prohibited uses
You agree not to: (a) access member areas without authorization; (b) use automated means to scrape, harvest, or download content; (c) attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the site; (d) post unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringing content; (e) engage in solicitation or marketing; or (f) impersonate others.
11) Moderation and enforcement
We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion for violations of these Terms or our community standards. We may also take steps to prevent abuse (rate-limits, IP blocks, etc.).
12) Third-party links and services
The site may link to third-party sites or services. We’re not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
13) Disclaimers
The site provides information for general educational purposes. It does not constitute legal, financial, engineering, or other professional advice. The site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
14) Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LeadingTransit will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the site.
15) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LeadingTransit and our staff, editors, and contributors from claims arising out of your use of the site, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
16) Changes to the site or Terms
We may update the site and these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll provide reasonable notice (e.g., posting on this page or emailing members). Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17) Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Courts located in Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless another forum is required by applicable law.
