Accessibility Statement

Effective date: October 7, 2025

LEADINGTRANSIT.org

1) Introduction

LeadingTransit.org is committed to providing a website and member experience that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines and pursue select AAA criteria (e.g., color contrast) where practical.

2) Our Approach

  • Standards: Semantic HTML, proper heading structure, ARIA where needed, sufficient color contrast, visible focus states, and keyboard navigation for all interactive elements.

  • Media & documents: Alt text for meaningful images; captions for hosted videos; transcripts for audio; accessible PDFs or HTML equivalents upon request.

  • Forms: Programmatic labels, clear error messages, and logical tab order.

  • Testing: Ongoing manual checks with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers, plus automated audits (e.g., axe, Lighthouse). We review new features for accessibility before release.

3) Compatibility

The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) on desktop and mobile, with assistive technologies such as screen readers and voice control.

4) Known limitations

We strive to fix issues promptly. Some third-party embeds (e.g., video players, conferencing tools, maps, CAPTCHA) may have accessibility constraints outside our direct control. If you encounter a barrier, we’ll provide an alternative wherever possible.

5) Continuous improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We schedule periodic reviews, track fixes, and prioritize improvements that materially affect access to content or features.

6) Feedback & requests

If you experience difficulty using LeadingTransit.org, need content in an alternative format, or want to suggest an improvement, please contact us at contact @ leadingtransit.org

Please include the page URL, the issue you encountered, and your assistive technology or browser. We aim to acknowledge requests within 2 business days and provide a path forward within 5–10 business days.

7) Formal complaints

If you believe your accessibility concerns have not been adequately addressed, please let us know in writing at the contacts above. We will review and respond with our findings and planned remediation steps.

8) Review

This statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated as our platform evolves.
